One of my favourite birds is the American Goldfinch. Their beautiful bright yellow colour is easy to spot and their song is so sweet. Goldfinches will sit on your feeder almost all day and often come in groups so you can watch their antics as they vie for the top perch on your feeder. We carry a variety of feeder especially for the goldfinch and also great quality nyger seed. Nyger is one of those seeds that can go rancid so it must be fresh. If you put some out and the finches aren’t going to it then most likely it is rancid. You are most likely to see finches in the spring so this is the perfect feeder to start out your spring with. Finches change colour and often move away in the fall and winter months.
