GARDEN GATE: Episode 255 – Time to puzzle (Dec 16, 2022)

As the nights get longer, it’s the perfect time to crack open a new puzzle. If you’re like me, its something to get you away from the TV and focused on something different.

The puzzles we carry are beautiful. Art pieces in fact! Many have stories attached. For example, in this episode there is a puzzle by Robert Bissell called The Buffalo. “A polar bear swimming amidst tropical sea horses and sunbeams? Part magical realism, part climate change narrative, Robert Bissell’s The Buffalo, featured on this 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle, reflects on the interconnectedness of our multidimensional world. Bissell’s explorations of zoomorphism—portraying humans as non-humans (often bears)—prompt us to ponder the environment, death and renewal, the stages of transition, and the mystery of life.”

We carry a number of lines including Pomegranate, Gallison, Indigenous collection and Algonquin puzzles. We have some on our website but many more in the shop. The pieces are high quality, fit together well and are designed with beautiful colours.
