When May rolls around, it’s time to put up the hummingbird and oriole feeders.

Everyone’s excited by the migration maps showing hummingbirds coming northward.
Preparing for hummingbirds doesn’t need overthinking, just keep it simple.
1. Prepare sugar water (nectar) by using the basic rule of 4 parts water to one part sugar.
2. Boil the water and add white refined sugar and stir until it dissolves.
3. Let it cool completely. Refrigerate unused portions.
4. Change sugar water weekly unless hot weather requires more frequent changes.
5. CLEAN the feeder with care.
